9.0 Overview Canvas Discussions/Announcements Redesign

Effective July 20, 2024, Canvas will implement a redesign of the Announcements and Discussions tools for all users. This mandatory update introduces several changes:

    • Ability to view discussion edit history

  • This update is not optional. After July 20, faculty will no longer have access to the legacy versions of Announcements and Discussions.

  • Initial information to provide:
    • Enter first and last name.
    • Summarize your request.
    • State the specific assistance needed (announcements redesign or discussions redesign).
  • Employee identification:
    • Provide your 10-digit employee ID.
    • Specify your role.
  • Help topic and issue type:
    • Select “Online Learning Support Canvas” under the Help topic.
    • Choose “Canvas Support” for the type of issue.
  • Details of assistance needed:
    • Clearly state if you need help with:
      1. Announcements redesign feature.
      2. Discussions redesign feature (effective July 20th).
