Why New Quizzes?

As we continually strive to enhance our educational tools and practices, we're excited to introduce you to Canvas New Quizzes. This new feature represents a significant advancement in assessment capabilities within our learning management system.

 What is New Quizzes?

New Quizzes is an advanced assessment engine designed to engage students and elevate the quizzing experience throughout our district. Eventually, Classic Quizzes will be retired. The retirement date has not yet been set. Therefore it is necessary to prepare you for this transition and highlight the benefits it will bring to our educational community.

New Quizzes offers several features that will streamline your quiz-building process and enhance your ability to assess student learning:

  • Item Banks: Easily organize and share quiz questions across courses.
  • Quiz Moderation: Greater control over quiz settings and student attempts.

While we don't have a retirement date set for Classic Quizzes, it is recommended that you prepare for the full transition to New Quizzes in order to become comfortable with the new user interface and features.  We're committed to ensuring that you're well-prepared for this change.
