How Do You Choose Your Text Colors?

Color contrast is essential in course design. Your students need to effortlessly be able to read your content clearly.  Although color is a powerful tool that can add another layer of navigation or interest, it is essential to be thoughtful of what your color choices. 

 

Your Goal 

Canvas Accessibility ActivityIdentify and evaluate potential text colors that may have low color contrast. Then choose text colors that have a high color contrast against the background. 

 

Instructions 

  1. In the Canvas Accessibility Demo Activity Set, navigate to the Canvas page, "Practice 4_Color Contrast" in module "Practice Makes Perfect: Hands On Course Activities."
  2. Choose text colors that have high contrast. 
  3. Compare your answers to "Answer Key-Practice 4_Color Contrast" in the Answer Key Module.
