Check Accessibility Tool

The Check Accessibility tool located in the RCE checks common accessibility errors within the editor. This tool can help you design course content while considering accessibility attributes and is located in the Rich Content Editor menu bar.

Your Goal 

Canvas Accessibility ActivityThis assignment is intended to help you become familiar with Canvas' accessibility checker. No need to fix or remediate anything. Here are some questions to consider while running the Check Accessibility tool. How does the Check Accessibility tool evaluate this page (or is there any mention of the following?):

  • Headings
  • Hyperlinks
  • Images
  • Lists
  • Color 

 

Instructions 

  1. In the Canvas Accessibility Demo Activity Set, navigate to the Canvas page, "Practice 1_[Sample of What YOU could do!] Welcome!" in Module, "Practice Makes Perfect: Hands On Course Activities."
  2. Run the Check Accessibility tool. Do not attempt to fix or remediate anything. 
  3. Take notes on the bulleted list above. What are your observations for each?
