How Do I Search and Browse for Books in the Library?
Searching for Books on a Specific Topic
Enter one or more keywords that describe your topic into the OneSearch Links to an external site. box. It is best to keep your search simple to find a book that is relevant.
Examples: climate change, the Italian Renaissance, earthquakes, college athletics, etc.
When you get a list of search results, choose Books from the Resource Type filter. This will filter your results to show both print books and eBooks that you can access online. You may need to select Show More to find Books. Click on Apply Filters after you have selected Books.
eBooks
To access only eBooks, click on Available online from the Availability filter located above Resource Type after you have limited to Books.
In order to access the eBook, you will be prompted to either enter your 10-digit college ID number & last name, create a free account, or download specific software. You will be able to either read the eBook online or download it.
Print Books
To access only physical books, click on Miramar College Library from the Availability filter located above Resource Type after you have limited to Books.
Browse for Books on a Similar Topic
Click on a relevant title from your search results, and then look at the Virtual Browse to see books on a similar topic.
