DIY YouTube & Amara Captioning

Case, Font, Caption Duration, Caption Placement

If YouTube's Auto-Generated Captions or Transcribe and Auto-Sync tools are used, YouTube will provide accessible default appearance of case, font, and caption placement.* You will not need to configure settings, YouTube takes care of it for you! The same goes for Amara.

Line Division

However, YouTube and especially Amara will need your help to determine Line Division. When using YouTube's Auto-Generated Captions or Transcribe and Auto-Sync tools, YouTube will generally set a maximum of two caption lines onscreen. Though, like with all automated tools, it will still need a person to review it for accuracy!

*Note: If manually creating captions in YouTube, Caption Duration will need to be determined manually. YouTube's auto-generated and Transcribe and Auto-Sync tools will automatically set caption duration timing.
