Add a Fun Canvas Course Card Image

Hopefully your institution has toggled this option on....

 

Using course images, teachers can now help students find their courses even faster using pictures to represent a class on a student dashboard. Use How do I add an image to a course card in the Dashboard? Links to an external site.to find out if you can add an image to your dashboard. If you this option is not available in your Canvas instance, please check in with your admin. 

 

Ways to Create your Canvas Course Card

There's a couple of ways to create your course card. You can use Flickr to quickly upload an image or design and upload your own course image. Here are some of the resources I found if you want to get started in adding some flair to your course card.

Canvas accepts the image dimension 262 x 146-pixel dimension. Anything larger, and Canvas will crop it. 

 

Canva is really fun. I've used Canva to design a lot of the graphics in this library using a free account. Check out Side Quests down below to see some examples of what you can do. You will need to sign-up for a free account. 

...I Just Want to Create a Course Card Real Quick

I have a Canva template for you to create your course card quickly. Note that this is an open source template, so anyone can edit, download, or delete your template. If you plan to make changes to your course card, you may want to create your own Canva account to save your work.

This template is for folks who just want to create a course card, or want to play with Canva a bit to check it out. Once you're finished creating
