What is Zoom?
By now we think you probably know what Zoom is. But just in case, Zoom is a web-conferencing tool used to host online meetings. At Mesa we're using it for synchronous remote meetings together as well as remote teaching with students. Common uses:
- Hosting remote meetings and remote class (synchronous) sessions
- Hosting workshops and conference sessions
- Individual appointments with students and colleagues
- Hosting online office hours
Participants can join from their computer, or they can use the free Zoom app to join the Zoom meeting from their smartphone.
Different Zoom Licenses
There are free and licensed versions of Zoom, and at SDCCD you get a Zoom Licensed account in our SDCCD domain: sdccd-edu.zoom.us Links to an external site.
How do I login and activate my account?
- Browse to https://sdccd-edu.zoom.us/ Links to an external site.
- Select Activate
- Login using your SDCCD login credentials.
