Committee Involvement
Committee involvement is a great way to get connected to the work being done at Mesa, and part time faculty are valuable contributors to that committee work.
Join a Committee in just 6 Steps
- Identify your interests: Start by identifying the kind of work that interests you. Reflect on the unique gifts that you bring to Mesa and our service to students.
- Explore your options: There are many committees at Mesa. Use the Committee list & Roadmap implementation plan to explore the options.

- Discuss with your Departments/Service area: Express your interest in joining a committee to your chair, supervisor, and/or department. Work together to determine where you can best represent your area and how to manage the impact to your workload and schedule.
- Attend a meeting: Contact the chair of the committee to ask about attending a meeting. At the meeting, ask questions to learn about the committee goals, and find out if they are seeking representatives from your area. Decide whether this committee's work aligns with your interests.
- Request to join: Once you've decided that you want to contribute to the work of the committee, contact your senate to be appointed to the committee. They will contact the chair and committee admin to get you added.
- Engage: Begin working with the committee and engaging in your passion! Remember you represent a larger group on campus. Be sure to bring back information to your constituency.
