How Can I Identify if an Article Has Been Peer-Reviewed?
If you need further confirmation of whether an article comes from a peer-reviewed journal or if you have found a journal article using Google or Google Scholar and are unsure if it has been peer-reviewed, you can use OneSearch's Journal Finder .
Journal Finder by OneSearch
Journal Finder Links to an external site.is a database that includes publication information for journals. When you search for a journal title in the database, you will see a small purple icon next to the words Scholarly/Peer Reviewed. This indicates that the journal is peer-reviewed.
Other Articles in Peer-Reviewed Journals
An article can be from a peer-reviewed journal and not actually be peer-reviewed. Other article types such as editorials, news items, and book reviews do not go through the same review process.
