Finding Different Types of Sources in Library Databases

Similar to OneSearch, A-Z Databases Links to an external site. has filters that let you select databases by Subjects and Database Types. Databases are organized collections of information or data, such as journal articles, reports, books, videos, or images that can be searched to retrieve information. When looking for a specific source, use the All Database Types drop-down menu. Otherwise, databases are listed in alphabetical order by name. Take a look at A-Z Databases to become familiar with the limiters and filters.

Source Type Best Place to Start
Journal Article From the All Databases Types drop-down menu, choose Peer-Reviewed Journal Articles and a subject from the All Subjects drop-down menu.
Primary Source From the All Database Types drop-down menu, choose Primary Sources.
Newspaper Article From the All Database Types drop-down menu, choose News Sources.
Video From the All Database Types drop-down menu, choose Video.
