Try to First Learn How to Identify Inaccessible PDFs

Learning PDF Accessibility can be tricky, but as content creators and curators, it is our duty to provide our audience with accessible content.

It is very easy to go down the rabbit hole, and you can potentially spend many hours making one PDF accessible depending on its complexity -- save yourself time and effort! For example, a moderately complex four-page PDF can easily take at least six hours to remediate.

If there is a PDF that has essential content, consider placing it in a Canvas page, checking with the Publisher or author to gather the accessible version, reaching out to local services and support on campus like the Distance Education or professional development team, or checking-in with your Disabled Student Programs and Services should a student require an alternative format.
